We have really been looking forward to this summer for Ryder. Last year we just missed signing him up for little league, and really was eager to get him signed up this year. Ryder as many of you may know, is a busy body for sure. We have been practicing lots to get him ready for his 1st day in little league. Playing in the yard with his bat, and practising his catching… he’s spent lots of time (thanks to his Mom) and has made great progress.
Today, while he was playing at his Grandma MacDonalds, he took a hard fall.. and sadly broke his collar bone! We are a little unsure of the exact circumstances as he was playing in the back yard, and he has a doosy of a goose egg on the back of his head.. so Im sure he was a little stunned.
So his baseball season is over for the year… before it even began.
He called his Grandma MacDonald and Grandma Robinson to tell them the bad news… as we were listening to him share his bad news… fighting back tears.. and explain what happen, and declared he was “Going to have a bad year!” Kids always have such an interesting perspective!
I am really proud of him… he really tried hard to be brave, trust his parents and the doctor all the while being worried about his arm, and whether or not he would get to play Baseball or not.

In some ironic twist of fate we were watching this great video for FHE. An excerpt from David A Bednars talk on how bearing burdens helps to get us home. I am grateful for the tender mercies in my life, and for being able to see how my family has been strengthened because of His truths in our lives. Have a watch.. its a great lesson.
